While you can take the same approach to finding both situations, it’s probably more efficient to handle each one uniquely because they likely have very different recruiting processes. A new client in my program named Tim just got out of grad school with a business administration degree. Financially, he was in a position where he had to earn money by continuing his search for the perfect professional fit. Submitting an online resume may not be read out of mere interest. Put yourself in the best position and leave your resume in person. You might get lucky and be offered an interview there. I know you will be ready to surprise them at once.
Tim was quickly hired to work nights at a local hotel. After that, we tried to find a career that would put this new MBA to good use. All of the career paths that most interested Tim were at large companies with very strict hiring processes.
