How To Get A Minority Business Grant – The Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) grant fund will be open for applications soon. The MBE Foundation provides up to $25,000 to Black and Hispanic-owned small businesses and is focused on increasing business success, job retention, and job creation.

To qualify, businesses must be located in Forsyth County and operating as of January 1, 2022. Enterprises with 1-25 full-time employees and less than $1 million in gross annual sales are eligible.

The MBE Grants Program is administered by the Entrepreneurship Advisory Committee of black and Hispanic business leaders in Forsyth County. This committee reviews applications, provides technical assistance, and determines grant recipients.

Committee Co-Chair Lorena Muñoz-Holladay says, “The MBE grants program was funded by local donations, giving our community an edge in supporting minority small business growth. We have been able to plan a long-term strategy that goes beyond the initial response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the course of two years, we have proven that this strategy successfully contributes to business success and job retention.”
