How To Make Money Bread

How To Make Money Bread – I didn’t realize this was an “easy” monkey bread recipe until I started reading other recipes and seeing how engaged they were. I took about 10-12 minutes from the fridge to the oven and it was delicious! I did the last few minutes this week to study the Bible. I don’t usually have any self-control when it comes to baobab, so I always make sure to take it where I can share it instead of taking it home. 😉

If you don’t have a bundt pan, this is a great option from Nordic Ware (the original maker of the bundt pan).

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine your butter, sugar and cinnamon in a small saucepan. When it melts, grease your pan with butter wrappers or some extra butter.

Use kitchen shears (or a knife and cutting board) to cut the cookies into quarters or sixths and place them loosely in a greased pan. If you’re adding nuts to your recipe, sprinkle them between the cookies as you add them to the pan.

When the cookies are done, turn up the heat for the butter and sugar a bit and keep stirring until they are combined and the lumps come out. It’s not necessary to dissolve the sugar completely, but you can if you want.

NOTE: If your monkey bread is a little dry in the middle and the butter-sugar mixture doesn’t get between all the bread slices, put half of the cookie sheets on the outside, then alternate drizzling with butter and adding cookie sheets. I have no problem with this, but some readers expressed this concern. 😉

Place a cookie sheet on the lower rack to catch the drippings and bake for 30-35 minutes (I sometimes let mine go up to 40 minutes if I don’t want the center to be soft at all).

Let it cool for at least 10 minutes before pouring it out on a plate, it may fall apart if you take it out too soon.

This monkey bread is a sticky bundt cake made from dough balls coated with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon, baked into a sweet caramel-covered pull-apart dough cake and topped with a sweet glaze. This is your favorite flavor of classic cinnamon rolls in monkey bread form!

Grocery Staples That You Can Make At Home

When buttering the pan, you will use about 3 tablespoons of softened butter. (Yes, it takes quite a bit of butter to grease the pan, but the butter and brown sugar + cinnamon mixture will caramelize as it bakes.)

Pull out the tape measure to make sure you’re making an 8-inch square and that you’re cutting the dough into equal 1-inch pieces. If the dough ball is inaccurate, it’s really no big deal. But to keep the ball from getting too big, a tape measure would help!

Do not let the monkey bread sit in the pan for more than 5 minutes or the caramel will stick to the pan.

Store covered monkey bread at room temperature for 2-3 days. Baobab can be kept longer if kept covered in the refrigerator (4-5 days).

Easy 5 Ingredient Beer Bread

You can make monkey bread ahead of time! Follow the directions before baking. One final rise (in the pan), cover in the fridge overnight. This process is called delay because you are slowing down the ascent and extending the time. Follow the baking instructions the next morning. This is a great way to make extra prep ahead of time and still enjoy a freshly baked breakfast!

Freeze finished baobabs for up to 3 months. Quick freeze in refrigerator until solid. Remove and double-wrap with plastic wrap, then a single-layer with aluminum foil. Store in refrigerator for up to 3 months.

Baobab gets its name because it is a finger food. The name comes from the idea that the monkey would pick up the bread and pull the dough apart.

I have not made monkey bread in any other pan, but technically it can be made in any pan. For example, you can make it in a loaf pan. However, oven temperatures and baking times will vary.

The baobab is dark brown in color, the dough looks ready, and the juices are bubbling.

I’m not sure about the rest of the world, though. I don’t believe canned cookie dough is very popular outside the US, it’s the standard start of quick monkey bread.

Of course, it’s the only time I’ve ever used a jar of cookies because my dad’s homemade cookies changed my life! I get comments and emails from readers almost every day about how this cookie recipe turned out to be a real cookie. 😉

Either way, this monkey bread with cookies is a classic. We grew up on it and I wanted to share this recipe because 1) it’s good stuff, 2) every kid needs this in their life, 3) it’s a holiday breakfast staple, and there will always be another Holiday.

Make The Bread, Buy The Butter

Cookie Dough – We use cookies to make monkey bread to keep it simple. Refrigerated canned cookie dough works well here. You will cut the cookie dough into small pieces.

Sugar – you’ll coat the cookie pieces with a mixture of caster and brown sugar, then you’ll make a caramel sauce with butter and more brown sugar and pour over the monkey bread!

Cinnamon – This will be mixed with the sugar and spread on the cookie sheets as a coating. The cinnamon and sugar flavors of monkey bread make it so irresistible!

You can cover the baobab at room temperature for at least a few days. No refrigeration required. You can reheat bread in the microwave for about 20 seconds. Monkey Bread is best eaten hot!

It got its name because of how you split it with your hands to eat it like a monkey. It’s also called cake picking, pull-a-bread or bubble bread!

If you want to try it, double my dad’s batch of cookies, pat the dough into a large rectangle, and cut into 1 inch squares. I would be a little more liberal with flour so the dough is a little bit more
