In this guide, I will go through a simple method on how to make money on Runescape as a beginner, using a low level character without an active membership. While there are many ways to earn gold in Runescape, I believe this method is the simplest of them all
The first thing you need to do is get your foot in the door To make money you need to have money The fastest way is to start by mining copper and tin, smelting the copper and tin into brass bars and then making them into something you can sell.
In my opinion, the best place to start is in a mine near Varok You can see its map on the map below To start, you should mine 140 copper ore and 140 tin ore and place them in the bank located in Varok Show on the same map.

How To Earn Old School Runescape Gold At A Low Level?
When you have mined copper and tin you need to smelt them into ingots To do that you should travel to Berthrop You can get there by lodestone or you can still run there if your lodestone is not activated.
When in Berthrop you need to go to the bank there and get exactly 14 tin and 14 copper ore. Next, you go to the smelter and use it to mine copper bars The image below shows the location of the bank and the smelter Repeat this until you have converted all your copper ore and tin ore into brass bars, at which point you should have 140 brass bars.
The reason to aim for 140 brass bars is to get yourself some necessary skills in smithing before you start making weapons and armor out of brass. I recommend making at least 140 brass bars, but you can do more if you want
When you have completed the first step, you should be ready to start making bronze weapons Go to the anvil where you smell the metal and start forging To do this you need to click the anvil to open the crafting window where you can select which weapon or armor you want to craft.

Before you start you should spend some time finding an item that gives you the maximum amount of gold for each brass bar you use. The prices offered for items in the Grand Exchange are listed in the image below where the red ring is (more on the Grand Exchange later).

When you are done crafting items, you need to return to Varok and go to the Grand Exchange shown in the picture below. Again you can go to Varok with a loadstone or drive there
The Grand Exchange is an auction house for every item in Runescape and is where you get rich. To enter the Grand Exchange you need to speak with the Grand Exchange Clerk, but first, you should prepare your weapon or weapons from the bank. A banker is conveniently located next to the Grand Exchange Clerk
Since your inventory can only hold 28 items you will need to switch to withdrawal mode You do that by clicking the note with the sword symbol where it says “Load Preset”. After that, you can withdraw all your crafting items as notes

When you are done you press “Confirm Offer” and the sale offer is activated Sometimes there isn’t enough demand for a particular item despite working -5%, so you may have to wait a bit for your item to sell.
When all your items are sold, you have to click on the box with the item to withdraw the gold to your backpack or bank.
The Best Low Level Money Making Methods In Runescape
Having the right amount of gold from the items you sold in the next phase involves buying brass bars instead of wasting time mining and smelting. To do this you use Grand Exchange again, but this time you click on the little green arrow that points. Now in the window that opens you want to write bronze bar in the search line and then select the bronze bar icon from the list below the search line.
You should now see the price of one brass bar Make sure that the cost of one bronze bar is less than the cost of the item you are crafting and if it is, buy another 140 bars (or any multiple of 28). Again you may have to wait a bit but when you have managed to buy all the bronze bars, you have to transfer directly from the Grand Exchange to your bank by pressing the “To Bank” button.
After that, you make brass objects again from that brass bar But this time, you don’t need to go to Berthrop You can go to the bank in Varok, withdraw the 28 bronze bars there, go south of the bank and go home and craft the anvils there from the bronze bars. Then go back to the bank, deposit the brass items and get more brass penalties

Finally, when you’ve used up all your brass bars, you can once again travel to the Grand Exchange to sell items and buy more bars.
You should repeat steps 3 and 4 until your smith skill is high enough to start making your iron items. Just keep crafting brass items until you have enough smith skill to craft iron items, which only require one iron bar and give you the most value. At that point, you should go to the iron crafting area and repeat steps 3 and 4, now using iron bars instead of brass bars. Doing so will give you more gold per crafting action and more importantly, more experience than crafting from bronze items.
Continue this until you get into crafting steel weapons and armor Again, wait until you can craft the highest value steel item that only requires steel bars and then switch. Continue for mithril and adamantine etc
Now you should get a hang of how this method works It’s a grind, but it will give you a load of gold in no time And it works without the need of high skills or that you are a Runescape member You can also gain a number of smith skills that are valuable when crafting the best weapons and armor in the game
