How To Make Money Runescape – John has been playing MMORPGs since 2004; Starting with World of Warcraft, then spreading to other MMOs.
My hero in the movie “Runask”, wearing iron armor, I made it myself. An added bonus of making money in Runescape using this method.
How To Make Money Runescape
When you start playing Runescape, you realize you are truly spoiled. Any decent gadget you can buy is worth a lot more than a little gold in your bank. So naturally, you start thinking about how you can make more money.
How To Make Money In Runescape With Flax: 7 Steps (with Pictures)
In this guide, I will go over a simple method of how to make money as a beginner in Runescape using a low level character without an active membership. There are many ways to earn gold in Runescape, but I find this method to be the simplest of them all.
The first thing you need to do is get your foot in the door. To make money, you have to have money. The fastest way is to mine copper and tin ore, melt the copper and tin into bronze ingots, and then make them into salable items.
I think the best place to start is in the mine near Varrok. You can see its location on the map below. To start, you need to mine 140 copper ore and 140 tin ore and place them in the bank located in the Warrock show on the same map.
Location of mine and bank in Warrock. You can also use the mine located in the lower right corner of the Varrock.

After copper and tin ore are mined, they must be smelted into ingots. For this you must go to Burthrop. You can get there with a lodestone, or if you don’t have a lodestone activated, you can run.
When you’re in Burthrop, go to the bank there and get exactly 14 tin and 14 copper ore. Next, you go to the smelter and use the ore to melt it into bronze ingots. The picture below shows the location of the bank and the smelter. Repeat this until you have converted the copper ore and tin ore into bronze ingots, and you should have 140 bronze ingots.
The reason for aiming for 140 bronze ingots is to gain the necessary blacksmithing skills before starting to craft bronze weapons and armor. I recommend making at least 140 bronze ingots, but you can do more if you want.
After completing the first step, you should be ready to make a bronze weapon. Go to the ore smelting anvil and start crafting there. To do this, you need to click on the anvil to open the crafting window, where you can choose which weapon or armor you want to craft.

Before you begin, you should spend some time finding the one item that will yield the most gold for each bronze ingot. The picture below shows where the red ring is for the commodity price on the Grand Exchange (more on the Grand Exchange later).
For items requiring two bronze ingots, divide this amount by two, and for items requiring three bronze ingots, divide this amount by three before comparing. Alternatively, you can simply use the highest priced item that requires only one bronze bar (usually a sword).
The red ring is around the suggested price for this item. 501 gold for one bronze sword.
Now you have to use the bronze bars you have in your bank and go back and forth from the anvil and the rim until you can turn them into a weapon or a piece of armor.

Once you’re done crafting, return to Varok and proceed to the Grand Exchange shown in the image below. Another lodestone and Varrock can go or just run there.
The Grand Exchange is the auction house for every item in Runescape and where you can strike it rich. To access the Grand Exchange, you must speak with the Grand Exchange Clerk, but first you must retrieve any weapons or armor you just crafted from the bank. A banker is conveniently located near the clerk of the Grand Exchange.
Since you only have 28 items in your inventory, you need to go into note taking mode. You do this by clicking on the entry with the sword icon where it says “Load Presets”. After that, you can remove all your prepared items as reminders.
Then you go to the Grand Exchange Clerk and open the Grand Exchange and you should see something like this.

To sell your items, right click on them and select “Offer Bronze xxx”. Now you will get another screen like below, instead of bars, yours will show what you have decided to sell.
In this window you can choose the price of the item and the amount you want to sell. In this case, you can choose to sell all your items and then click the -5% button. This ensures that your price is low enough so that you can sell all of your items immediately. But don’t worry, you will still get the amount offered by other players.
When done, click “Confirm Offer” and the sales offer will be active. Sometimes, even with -5%, there is not enough demand for a certain item, so you may have to wait a little longer to sell your items.
After all your items are sold, you need to click on the box with the item to get the gold in your backpack or bank.
Money Making Guide
The next step in getting decent gold from the items you sell involves mining the ore and buying bronze bars instead of spending time smelting them. To do this, you’ll use the Grand Exchange again, but this time click on the small green arrow pointing down. Now in the window that opens, you want to write bronze bar in the search bar, then select bronze bar from the list below the search bar.
You should now see the cost of one bronze bar. Make sure that the price per bronze ingot is lower than the item you’re crafting, and if so, buy another 140 ingots (or multiples of 28). To do this, you change the number to 140 and the price to something slightly above the listed price.
You may have to wait a little longer, but once you’ve bought all the bronze bars, you should be able to move them directly from the Grand Exchange to your bank by pressing the “Bank” button.
Then you make bronze objects again from those bronze ingots. But this time there is no need to go to Bertrop. You can go to the bank in Warrock and get 28 bronze bars from there, then move to the house south of the bank and use the anvils to make bronze bars. Then return to the bank, deposit the bronze items and get more bronze bars.

Finally, once you’ve used all your bronze ingots, you can travel to the Grand Exchange to sell items and buy more ingots.
You will need to repeat steps 3 and 4 until your smithing skills are high enough to begin crafting iron items. Continue crafting bronze items, you have enough smithing skills to craft a metal item that requires only one piece of iron and will fetch the highest price. At that point, you’ll need to switch to crafting ironwork and repeat steps 3 and 4, now using iron ingots instead of bronze ingots. Doing this will net you more gold and more importantly experience than making bronze items.
Keep doing this until you have the ability to craft steel weapons and armor at a time. Again, wait until you can craft the highest value steel item that only requires steel irons, then switch. Continue for mithril and adamantine and more.
Now you should know how this method works. It’s a grind, but it will give you a load of gold in a reasonable amount of time. And it works without requiring high skill or being a member of Runescape. You’ll also gain a lot of crafting skills that are valuable in crafting some of the best weapons and armor in the game.
