How To Start A Solar Panel Business – 1-megawatt 2-megawatt red megawatt blue megawatt; some are recessed, some are large scale, some are solar panels…..you get the point, right? Okay, cool. We are done with that now. From start to finish, a solar energy development project takes years. Sometimes those years are easy, go without a hitch. Sometimes it makes you think longingly of Dante’s Fifth Circle of Hell, where damned souls wage eternal war on the surface of the River Styx. Because, frankly, even that sounds more fun than dealing with angry stakeholders and sly environmental consultants. (Just us?) In all seriousness, finding and finding a solar power site can pose a serious challenge, even for the most hardened developers. Solar utilities are fighting for salvageable sites and working against systems that purport to have the same goals as them *cough advisors* *cough*. The bad news is that there is no way around many of these obstacles. The good news is that there are some tweaks you can make to your process that will speed up the process significantly and reduce your workload and project timeline. Being in the solar farm business doesn’t have to be synonymous with sleepless nights, wasted money, and endless snacks. Here are five steps to help you secure solar development sites faster and more reliably, so you can realize less time and see more completed projects. 1. Determine Your Solar Energy Goals First of all, you should know what your goals are. This will depend mainly on the energy load or demand in the surrounding areas and how the utility lines can carry that energy. Other factors include your budget, partnership, location, government requirements and restrictions, and so on. Considering only the 10 percent of solar land identified during the site selection process ultimately makes the project complete (yikes), you need to be very specific with your goals. That way, you have a better chance of finding a site that meets those goals and avoids surprises. Ask questions such as: Who will use this capability? How far will it have to travel to be useful? You’ll want to: State your energy production goals Outline your storage goals Set short- and long-term benchmarks. that includes a clear plan that makes everyone visible early. Create a List of Suitable Solar Plant Sites Next, when creating a list of potential sites. There is, and every solar company and utility company in the energy industry is scrambling to find potential development packages. As more and more companies develop large-scale energy projects, it is not easy to find a suitable site for solar energy projects. Young, healthy plants need space to grow. It needs room to stretch its inverters and PV systems and one day be big and powerful, growing in its own solar farm. Finding the perfect website for this is the key to success. Although there are many different types of solar farms that your bright-eyed devices can be in, suitable sites have several characteristics in common.
