How To Start Your Own Party Planning Business – I am a full-time mother of two young children, a wife, and a professional event planner! Although we all know that corporate events are very prestigious and weddings can be drool worthy… I much prefer to work with my little clients. Yup, you may have guessed it. My niche market is planning children’s events, with a charming specialization in girls’ celebrations!

At only 24 years old, I created my own event planning business, where me and my “team” (and by team, I mean my family members who just wanted to make some side money. ) we started planning and hosting spa and beauty themed parties for the local market. From the beginning, it seemed like all the odds were against me.

How To Start Your Own Party Planning Business

I was a young college student with absolutely no experience, not much support and on top of that very little money to finance my vision! Not to mention my competition was more mature and well established in the market, as they had been monopolizing it for years. However, with strategic planning, faith in God, and pure determination; I was able to build my brand from nothing and become the most sought after among my competition in less than a year! I went from having zero clients to turning down clients and even found myself referring them to my competition!

As I continued to solidify my brand positioning in the market, I knew it was time (quite soon I might add) to expand. Surprisingly I realized, I had maximized the potential for my business in its original state. Therefore, I had three options: hire more employees to take on more events, add more services to increase income, or the most extravagant of them all open an event venue to host several parties a day. Although each option seemed quite profitable, none seemed satisfactory in my eyes. I found that among the development of my own business, that I simply loved, the art of business!

Therefore, I chose the fourth option (unconventional is my style it seems) to develop affordable training materials for other entrepreneurs like me, who are just as ambitious and determined. Those who may feel there is a barrier to entering their industry; whether that obstacle is finances, lack of resources, or simply self-doubt. Therefore, “Think like a Boss: Building your Glampire” was formed.

It is my hope that through my knowledge, education and experience; that other professionals are able to educate themselves and feel empowered to follow their dreams and goals of being successful and truly happy business owners!
