1. Begin your letter by writing your name and address in the upper right corner of the page. This may not be as important if you deliver your letter to the recipient in person, but if you mail it, it’s important to include this information in case your return address (on the back of your envelope is you on your letter) is damaged, or the envelope was spilled. 3. After you write the date, under it you will write your greeting. Since this is a personal letter, you can be informal in your greeting. Depending on your relationship with the recipient, you can start your greeting with their name, nickname, or you can use pet names. You can also use common greeting expressions used in letters such as “Hello”, “Regards”, “Hello” or “Dear”. Since this is an informal letter, it is not necessary to put a colon (:) punctuation mark after the salutation. You can also use a comma (, ) instead. You may also see business proposal letters.

As for the greeting part; it’s just up to you how you sign your letter depending on your relationship with the recipient. You can use pet names, or generic greetings such as; “Yours truly”, “So long”, “From”, “From the bottom of my heart”, “See you”, “Yours”, “Love”,  and others. Under sign-off, sign or write your name.
